The Race Across Georgia is a 277.2 mile virtual run and ride which benefits Mercy Med of Columbus and House of Heroes CVC. With this event, we hope to connect our community in a way that is safe yet challenging and fulfilling at the same time. We also hope to raise money for these two organizations that do very important work in our community.
VRAG will take place November 4 through December 31, 2020.
This virtual event challenges runners and cyclist to explore a personal best over 277.2 miles which is the distance of the Race Across Georgia route from the pier at Tybee Island to the Chattahoochee River in Columbus, GA. Teams and solo runners can choose to run ‘as they please’ or run the 277.2 miles all at once and do it as fast as possible. Use a running watch or tracking app like Strava to keep a record of your miles. Share milestones and progress on the Run Across Georgia Facebook page as well as send your daily totals to RAG admins who will mark your progress on the VRAG map.
Teams and individuals of all ability levels are encouraged to run as well as "phantom" teams and individuals. Each registered participant will receive a Race Across Georgia medal, sweatshirt and hat as well as a few other goodies in your go box. Register by October 31 to guarantee your sweatshirt.
Fundraising proceeds from the 2020 Virtual Race Across Georgia will be distributed to Mercy Med of Columbus and House of Heroes CVC as of December 31, 2020. However, teams will have an option regarding when to apply donations toward their fundraising incentives. Prior to December 31, 2020, teams must choose whether to apply donations towards 2020 VRAG fundraising incentives OR carryover their totals toward 2021 RAG. Check into the Run Across Georgia Facebook page with fundraising milestones. Fundraising incentives are the same as those listed on https://runacrossgeorgia.com/
