My Story…
Pathway to Progress Nicaragua is supporting an educational program in Nicaragua initiated and run by Barb and Ed Dunsworth, who are local people from our community. They have lived in Managua, Nicaragua, since 2005, where they set up a centre to support and sponsor education for children from the poorest areas of Managua, with the belief that education is the hope of the future for the disadvantaged people of this wonderful country. Chuck and I visited them in 2014 and witnessed their centre and their program first hand. They started with three children and now support 90 students from grade one through highschool and over 30 program graduates who have now gone on to university. This is a grassroots program that sees over 90% of the fundraising money go directly to the cause. The Bluenose Marathon is one of the key ways for them to fundraise each year.
