It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel the Christmas in July Races (“CIJ”) for 2020 due to the current health crisis with the Coronavirus. After consulting with the authorities, it is the only responsible choice to make. We are deeply saddened with this cancellation. It is the most difficult decision we have had to make since the Christmas in July Races was founded seven years ago. The continued spread of this terrible virus has led us to the painful realization that there is no alternative but to cancel this year’s race. Our first thoughts are with you, our athletes. Since CIJ was founded it has been, and continues to be, our philosophy to put the well-being of our athletes at the heart of everything we do, regardless of the circumstances. Now we have reached the point where we can no longer guarantee the health and physical well-being of our athletes. We have been greatly concerned that the training conditions of our athletes are subject to the massive restrictions. We are particularly thinking of our many volunteers who are the heart and soul of our event and who we do not want to put at risk. The same applies to the individuals at the park district, the police department and our sponsors who provide on-site support for our event. We cannot put any additional burden on them.
We are making this difficult decision now because very soon we would have to make significant additional outlays of funds. In addition, we do not know what the situation will be with regards to this dreadful virus in a month or two and we feel it is only fair to our athletes to give you as much advance notice so you can modify any travel arrangements and your training.
Our plan is to hold the 2021 event on the same weekend as this year. We have received preliminary approvals from all the permitting bodies to hold the event on July 23-24, 2021.
An email has been sent to each registered participant (Please check your spam folder if you don't see it in your inbox) with your options for how to proceed with your current registration. We ask that you please reach out to us by May 31st, 2020 to let us know how you would like us to proceed. Again, our deepest apologies, but greatly look forward to opening registration for the 2021 event and for a quick end of this pandemic. Stay safe and take care of yourselves!

The 7th Annual Original Christmas in July Races will take place in the Lisle Community Park on July 24-25, 2020. Activities include a Santa Claus Fun Run, a 5K race, 6, 12 and 24 hour solo and relay timed event endurance runs amid music and a festive, lively atmosphere with Christmas decorations surrounding the course.

Santa Fun Run Closed
An event for children 10 and Under. For security, when registering, you may want to only add your child's first initial of their first name since participant names are listed online. Kids will receive a bib, t-shirt and high quality medal (same design as races, but made of rubber material) upon completing the fun run.

1k Santa Fun Run
Santa Fun Run registration is open for children 10 and under. This event will be on Friday at 7:30 pm. Parents MUST sign a waiver at packet pick-up on Friday night.
Event Registration Limits
NOTE: We will have race day registration available on a first come, first serve basis until we reach our runner caps. No race day registrations for relay teams.
Anyone registering after June 30th or after the on-line registration reaches its limits will not be guaranteed a shirt, a medal or any swag items. We will mark race bibs accordingly and discount each race (fun run excluded) by $10 if the event reaches its limits indicated above and shirts, medals, and swag items are not available. (This is to allow people to run the race, but maybe don't necessarily care about the shirts, medals, or swag)
Refunds, Transfers, and Deferrals
Refunds:
You may protect your purchase at the time of registration by purchasing extra coverage through Ticket Guardian. This will be the only way to receive a refund of your race. If you do not, we offer other alternatives that you can read about below.

Transfer Policy:
Up through June 30, 2020 you will be allowed to transfer from one race to another or to transfer your registration to someone else.
Cost: For race category changes it's $10 plus the difference in price for the race you originally registered for and the new race you are transferring to. We do not offer refunds if the race you initially registered for is more expensive than the race you are transferring to. If a race has reached capacity, no transfers into that race will be permitted. For transfers to another individual, they will pay the current registration prices, not necessarily what the person who is transferring paid, which is a common misnomer). It's advised to let the system handle this and not work out differences among yourselves. Runners can log into Race Roster to facilitate the transfer.
"No Sweat" Deferral Policy:
Deferral Fees: 5K ($10); Timed Solo ($30); 6-Hour Timed Relay ($50); 12-Hour Timed Relay ($75); 24-Hour Timed Relay ($100)
At anytime up to June 30, 2020 you can defer your race entry to next year only. Deferrals shall forfeit any race swag for current year. We will not accept deferral requests after June 30, 2020. NO EXCEPTIONS! Just contact the race directors by June 30, 2020 to defer your entry to next year. When you're ready to register the next year, we will provide you a personal registration code that you can use, which will be in the amount you registered for the previous year minus the deferral fee.
Send an email to info@runners4wellness.com if you are requesting to defer along with your confirmation you received from this registration website. We will confirm with you and you should be okay.
