NEED2 Suicide Prevention Education & Support

NEED2 staff and volunteers  provide school-based suicide prevention and mindfulness programs to over 3500 youth on the South Island. Youthspace.ca, NEED2's online chat and text support service provides accessible emotional  and crisis support.  Youthspace.ca is powered by 125 highly local youth volunteers who supported over 7000 youth under 30 last year.   Youthspace.ca  utilizes text to connect with youth at risk of suicide through a Follow-Up pilot which supports youth after their initial contact.  This service  increases feelings of connectedness while reducing suicidality and reliance on emergency services.
