Join us for the South Holland Fun Run on September 19, 2020! We are holding 5K Run/Walk this year in lieu of our annual Heritage Haul race, due to the circumstances of Covid-19.
The race starts at the beautiful Veterans Memorial Park (500 East 160th Place) in South Holland, Illinois, at 7am. We will have staggered start times for the safety of our participants. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes or accessories, and we will have some fun surprises along the course to keep participants entertained!
Your registration includes a race bag filled with a long-sleeve race shirt (while supplies last) and many goodies. Everyone who finishes the race will receive a finisher's medal, and monetary prizes are awarded to our top finishers.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which has provided food for many Cook County families during the Covid crisis.
Online registration ends Friday, September 11. For safety reasons, there will be no in-person or on-site registration.
Please note: We reserve the right to change the Fun Run to a virtual race if COVID-19 circumstances dictate.

Packet & Race Shirt Pick-Up
Fun Run packet pick up will be held prior to the event at the South Holland Village Hall, 16226 Wausau Avenue. Here you will receive your race bib, race shirt, and goodie bag.

Wednesday, September 16, 12:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 17, 12:00 – 7:00 p.m.
**NOTE: For safety reasons, we will not distribute race bags on the day of the race.** If you cannot make it on Wednesday or Thursday to pick up your bag, you are welcome to have a friend or family member pick up your race bib, shirt and race bag for you. Please send them with a copy of your registration confirmation.
Course Information
A 15-minute mile pace or faster is required for the 5K race (approximately four miles per hour, equivalent to a very brisk walk).
If you fall below this pace, the South Holland Fun Run race organizers cannot guarantee course support, as road closures, water stations, and medical support will begin to become unavailable to participants. The local police and race organizers will ask you to either move up onto the sidewalk or require you to be transported further up on course to catch up to the 15-minute per mile group.
Medical
Medical support will be provided at the finish line, as well as along the course as needed.
Prizes & Race Medals
All participants will receive a finisher’s medal at the designated station. Age division winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place - male and female) will receive a medal. Top finishers in each race will receive a monetary prize. For safety reasons, there will not be a medal ceremony on the day of the race, so medals and monetary prizes will be mailed to the winners on the week following the race.
