My Story…
In October I'm going to run in the Scotiabank Virtual Charity Marathon to raise funds to send children to school in Ethiopia because their caregivers can't afford to pay for school supplies. In 2010, my family and I volunteered for two weeks for Canadian Humanitarian in Ethiopia. We saw how this organization paid to send orphans to school, from kindergarten to high school to college and university. CH provides healthy meals to the children and their caregivers (mostly grandmothers), as well as medical and dental care provided by Canadian volunteers. This is the best way I know of to break the cycle of poverty, which is why I'm raising funds for Canadian Humanitarian. If you wish, you can sponsor me for any amount. If you sponsor me for $20 or more, you will get a tax receipt by email right away. All the donated funds go to Canadian Humanitarian.

Canadian Humanitarian began assisting 40 Ethiopian students in 2004, and is now supporting 524 students in Ethiopia, and 22 students in Malawi. Our programs have grown because of donors like you, who help us reach out to relieve the suffering of children who have so much potential. With your help, we are successful in breaking the cycle of poverty one child at a time.
Over 1,232 young people are now independent working adults from Canadian Humanitarian programs, thanks to donors like yourself. They are contributing members of their community and their children will never need Canadian Humanitarian programs. The needs are still great, but the ability to make a difference is not beyond our reach with your continued support.
