My Story…
NOTICE: Not by my choice, a new system has been selected this year for our annual drive. I have been contacted by at least 6 long time supporters, asking if the marathon was on this year. Using correct emails, they were all sent a request for support, BUT did not receive it. I apologize if you have already received a request.
Good news: The 'drive' continues to November 21st
Greetings friends, family and colleagues. We certainly live in interesting and challenging times. But life goes on, and research must continue, in all areas of medicine, including COVID-19 and glaucoma. It is that time of year when again the GRSC participates in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. This year it will be 'virtual' and 25,000 participants will not assemble lakeside. The Board, and a few other supporters, will however conduct our own mini marathon as we seek support into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, a sight threatening disease. To refresh our memories and share the following with new supporters, my son was born with an essentially useless right eye, due to toxoplasmosis. Some years later he developed glaucoma in his only good (left) eye. Over time he has required two very significant and serious surgical interventions, and currently takes drops throughout the day, to help maintain his vision. Thank you for your support into research of glaucoma.

The board is dedicated to limiting administrative costs to ensure as much revenue is put forward for research as possible. Please help us as we work to find a cure!
