My Story…
Hello, I am fundraising for the Buddhist Education Foundation of Canada. Our foundation is dedicating the funds raised from the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon to the endowment for the Shi Wu De Professorship in Chinese Buddhist Studies established at Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto. This is the first professorship established in a Canadian university that honours a Buddhist monk. The late Venerable Shi Wu De was the founding President of our Foundation. Please join me in honouring his legacy and vision for Buddhist studies in public education in Canada and make a generous donation toward this endowment.
Description
The Shi Wu De Professor has been appointed in July this year. We hope that you will join us to fund-raise to contribute toward the remaining $300,000 of the $1.5 million endowment. The late Reverend Shi Wu De was the founding President of our Foundation and the founding Abbot of the Ching Kwok Temple of Toronto. He was a revered leader in the Toronto Buddhist community.
