My Story…
UrbanPromise Toronto (UPT) is a non profit organization that runs programs to support families in high priority neighbourhoods within Toronto Community Housing.The aim is to reach a child with the love of Jesus , raise a leader through mentorship and discipleship, and they will be agents of change to restore community.
This year I'm excited to not only participate in a marathon relay, but I'll also be attempting a 5K run with my daughter!
It is a daunting task to run / walk around 13,000 steps for her, but her willingness to do so inspires me. Her motivation for running is to support 'daddy's friends' and give them a place to have fun.

Children living in Toronto Community Housing want what any kid wants...
>To be known, accepted and valued.
>To become just like their role models.
>To dream.
They're up against some tough realities...
>material poverty
>lack of resources
>destructive cycles
>broken families
>lure of drugs
>threat of violence
Which can make them feel unworthy, defeated, angry, hopeless.
BUT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE HOPE, AND EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW JESUS-THE AUTHOR OF HOPE ITSELF.
