My team
I am excited to ride in our virtual event...I usually have to work at the event.
My father lost his battle to Parkison's in 2016. He suffered through the worst of this disease with dignity and optimism. When I am riding on fumes towards the end of this ride, I find myself thinking about what it took my father to get through a typical day with a smile on his face. It feels strange to acknowledge it, but pushing hard on this ride and staying optimistic no matter the conditions (and let's be honest, the average conditions for this ride over 5 years have been just one notch above horrible), makes me feel connected with my father again. If I could, I'd want to experience that every day.
