My Story…
Running For Longterm Care!
My mother passed away at Beckley Farm Lodge at the end of March. In her memory, I want to show my gratitude for the amazing care she received. Since I'm a runner I have decided to run 5 marathons in 5 days, and raise funds and awareness of the incredible importance of long term care.
My hope is you will support my run, the seniors in our community, those who call Beckley Farm Lodge home, and their dedicated caregivers. I am hoping to achieve a financial goal of $5000. This money will fund much-needed programs like Creative Arts and Music and Memory; and equipment needs such as towel warmers, specialty mattresses, and beds. None of this is covered by government funding – which is why I am ‘running and raising’!
Watch for me throughout Victoria from Thursday, June 18 to Monday, June 22 along the Victoria GoodLife marathon route. I will carry a sign that will say ‘Running for Long Term Care’! I hope you will cheer me on any way you can!
