EVENT CANCELLED
See you in 2021
Welcome to the Welland Canal Open Water Swim for 2020.
As we move to our fourth year hosting this historic event, please note that we have changed the location to the Community Boathouse on Thorold Road, at the north part of the canal. All distances will be the same as in previous years This location is also home to the Welland SwimRun Challenge and Open Water Swim. We have heard by many people that it is one of the most beautiful locations around. The water is clear and warm, and the shore is lined with trees and parks, all of which makes for a beautiful location to run a top flight race.
The Welland Canal Open Water Swim is considered by many to be one of the best in the area, and we at Canaqua Sports are very excited to be once again running this historic event.
- Distances: 1 k, 2.5 k, 5 k and 10 k
- Course: The course will be a 2.5 k loop. All swimmers will do 1, 2 or 4 loops depending on their chosen distance. For the 1 K distance we have a special 1 k loop that swimmers will utilize for that distance only
- The Welland Canal Open Water Swim is open to swimmers of all ages 12 and up. We invite all who are interested to come and join us and have a great swim at this great venue.
