Red Door Family Shelter

Since 1982, the Red Door Family Shelter has been on the front lines of delivering support services to women and children fleeing violence, refugees, and homeless families in Toronto and the GTA. Every year we help over 500 families by providing emergency shelter and supportive programs to help them heal and rebuild their lives.

Supporting Homeless Children

On any given night over half of our residents are children. Children and Youth are the most vulnerable casualties of homelessness. Taking care of a child’s emotional and psychological well-being is a high priority. You can help by fundraising with us, sponsoring a runner, or spreading the word about Team Red Door in the Yorkville Run. Proceeds will fund supportive programs for children to help them overcome the effects of homeless and abuse. Help provide homeless children with happy and healthy memories to carry with them into their new lives. Your fundraising provides programming and support for over 400 children including:

  • Homework help
  • Recreational outings
  • After School programs
  • Teen Life Skills workshops

The Red Door Family Shelter is committed to ending family homelessness, one family at a time. To learn more about our work visit:
