Love is Love 5k Run/Walk

Here are the FYI’s for Sunday race:

-Race is held at Bluhm County Park 3855 S 1100 W, Westville, IN 46391

-Online sign ups close at 6 pm on 6/19/20 but there will be race day sign ups at 7:15 am. Race day fees are $25 for runners and $15 for walkers only cash and check please.

-Race starts at 8:00 am central time

-Runners please place your bib on the front your shirts

-Runners when you finish you will receive a stick PLEASE turn that in ASAP to the person at the shelter. If you are overall female/male or top 3 in your age group you will receive your medal then.

-Runners/walkers must follow all CDC safe distancing guidelines.

-Runners/walkers must be in good health and symptom free from any illness for at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

-After picking up your packet please remain in your cars until 10 minutes before the race

-All runners/walker will be starting at the same time. We will start in the dirt parking lot and spread out. We need walkers in back and runners in front. Be seat yourself based on pace.

-Except for passing, runner/walkers should always remain on the far right-hand side of the pavement trail.

-Runners/walkers passing one another on the course must be no closer than 10 feet behind or in front of, or 6 feet beside other competitors at any time.

-Runners/walkers may pass only when there are not any oncoming runners approaching from the opposite direction.

-Before passing runners/walkers must be sure they can safely remain 10 feet behind and then 10 feet in front of the participant being overtaken before merging back to the right-hand side of the pavement trail.

-There will no formal awards ceremony please turn your stick ASAP and if you are top three in your age group you will received your medal then.

-All volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves. Runners/walkers are welcome to wear masks, but it is NOT mandatory.

-Water stop will be at the 1.5 mile mark and this is also your turning around point. You will follow the same route back to the finish.

-Limited pre-packaged snacks, water and Gatorade will be available at the shelter after you finish. Please practice social distancing and hand sanitizer will be available at that area.

-If there is any shirts left after the race begins they will be for sale for $15 cash or check ONLY

Love Is Love 5k Run/Walk will be held at beautiful Bluhm County Park in Westville, IN. The 5k run/walk will be on the pavement bike trail across the street from the shelter located in the park.
