This year has created unprecedented challenges for the Delaware Youth Center—as it has for everyone. Due to the current uncertainties and concerns from COVID-19, we have decided to change to a virtual-only race this year. We hope you will still join us virtually and share your experience with us on social media. Thank you for continuing to support the Delaware Youth Center!
Here's how it works:
- Choose your distance
- Choose your course
- Run, walk, or even bike anytime between July 18 and August 1
- Share photos of your virtual run, and tag the Delaware Youth Center on social media
- Support the Delaware Youth Center from anywhere in the world
Last year we had participants as far away as Lima, Peru and Sydney, Australia in our virtual race. This year, we hope to see you join us from wherever you are.
Want a t-shirt? We will ship it to you. Don't want a t-shirt? That's cool too. We've got both options.
We understand that this year has brought never-before-seen hardships to our area.
If your child wants to participate in the River Run but the cost of registration is a burden, we understand. Please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a sponsored registration. If you want to sponsor a child's registration, please also contact us.
All proceeds benefit the Delaware Youth Center.
The Gary A. Winglovitz Virtual Race began in 2019, named for one of our own: Gary Winglovitz, a kid who grew up in Cochecton and spent his childhood at the Delaware Youth Center. Gary died in 2014 at 41, and his family and friends have come out in force ever since to run the River Race in his memory.
The Youth Center would like to thank the Stewart/Winglovitz family for allowing us to turn the race in his memory into our main event this year.
