UPDATE (Mar.21.2020) Bison Run 2020 is now Virtual!
As a racer and a RD I know it’s a stressful time to race so we have decided to not cancel our race but make it virtual. While this is not the end result we wanted we wanted to have an option for us to get together (even if it's virtual) on race day and run. We have worked with Race Roster's virtual platform to make it possible. So join us wherever you are at home, on the trail, around your block, your favourite run route no matter where you live! Just run/walk the distance you signed up for. It's that easy!! So please read the info that will be emailed out to all registered racers soon with details how to do it. We have never done this so this will be learning curve for all of us but you will get a time, you will get a shirt (if before the deadline), a tree, counts for the series and a chance to win a mug!
To ensure we give everyone a chance to run on the actual course and respect social distancing our race day will be from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th.
So, keep training, keep focusing on the first 5K, PB or podium finish. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your arch rivals. Let's race!!
We might be the only show around in April so please keep signing up and let's do this Wainwright Runners Style!!
Shirt and tree pickup is still to be confirmed.
Watch for future Bison Run Updates as AHS advise changes and as the virtual RR platform improves.

This race, organized by the Wainwright Runners, offers a challenging and refreshing start to your running season. Join us for either a 10km or 5km run, a 5km walk or a 2km kids run!
The route is out and back along a paved multi-use trail (Ascot and Area Recreation Trail RR#70) beside the CFB Wainwright Buffalo pasture. As you can see, the route is rolling terrain and should challenge all running abilities.
Every participant receives a race shirt (if you sign up before April 10th, 2020) and a sapling (tree) for getting out and running with us. For those lucky enough to place in the top three spots of their running category, they will receive a hand-painted mug by Canadian Artist Debra Cherniawsky-Durrer. Pictures of the mugs from past years are below.
This year we will be donating half of our race profits to the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury for fitness equipment. So please help us donate as much as possible by coming out to our race.
You have the option of making the Bison Run your 1st race in the Battle River Series. You can register for all three races by clicking HERE or on the "Register for Series" button on the right panel.
All volunteers must register. Please click HERE to register or on the "Volunteer" button on left panel. Remember volunteers are included in the Series awards. This year, to help participants identify our team and to acknowledge your time, you will be given a Volunteer Bison Run T-shirt. If you register before Apr 10th, we will have a size that fits you.
