Join us for our 6th Annual Longhorn Stampede Run/Walk - a 5K, USATF Certified event through the Cambrian neighborhood. Whether you are a walker, casual jogger, distance runner, or a wheelchair athlete, come join your community at 9am, on September 27th, 2020.
This 5K Run/Walk is a great opportunity for kids, families, friends and businesses to come together and build a strong and healthy community. Special family pricing available. Runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes are invited to come in costume! Prizes will be awarded (details below).
Amy Gardner, a Leigh Parent, will present a dynamic, full-body warm-up prior to race start. The route starts outside Leigh High School, and ends in the school quad. Our Leigh cheerleaders and band members will be on the course providing spirit and music! There is plenty of parking and there will be snacks, drinks and fun activities for everyone at the end. If you are not walking or running, come out and cheer on the participants!
All booster clubs at Leigh, including Home & School Club, Performing Arts Parent Association, Sports Boosters, and Spirit Boosters have joined forces to put together this fun filled 5k neighborhood Run/Walk. Proceeds will benefit all Leigh students.
Sign-up is already live! Sign up early to get the best price (prices go up the as we get closer to race day) and to be guaranteed a race T-shirt (register before end of Friday, September 11th, 2020).
USATF Certified: For those more serious runners, the course is USATF Certified. This means your road running performance can be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked.

Awards
Individual Awards
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall, for both able-bodied and wheelchair participants. And the following 13 age divisions will also receive awards for the top 3 male and female finisher..
- 8 and under
- 9-10 (approx 3/4th grade)
- 11-12 (approx 5/6th grade)
- 13-14 (approx: 7/8th grade)
- 15-16 (approx: Frosh/ Soph)
- 17-19 (approx: Junior/Senior)
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49

Costume Awards
Any runner or walker is invited to participate in a costume of their choice. Dress up and have fun. Register your costume on race day - prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
- Best Overall Costume
- Best "Twins"
- Best Team (or Group) - 3 or more people
- Best Teacher
- Best Alumni
- Best Individual 10 and under
- Best Individual 11 and older
Registration Fees
Adults: $35 till June 30th, then $40 up to the day before race day, $50 race day
Youth: $20 up to the day before race day, $35 race day
Family: $100 (5 members, max 2 adults)
Kids 4 and under: Free
* T-Shirts: Only registrations on or before Friday, September 11th, are guaranteed a T-shirt. No discounts if T-shirt supply has run out after this date.
Race Packet Pickup
You can register and pickup up your race packet (bib, t-shirt, etc) at Sports Basement on the following dates:
- TBD - likely the Thursday and Friday before the race at a local sports store

Registration will be available at packet pickup, and on Race day. Note that any registration after September 11th is not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Course Map
The course starts on Los Gatos Almaden Road, and heads due East, parallel to the school, before heading off into the local neighborhood. The last 1/2 mile is back on campus, with the last 100 meters passing by the theatre and gym before finishing in the quad.
