HORNER HUSTLE

Mike Horner lived in Edison Park with his wife, Heather Dunne and their daughter, Mary Helen. When Mike was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in December 2015, his family and friends were blindsided. How could someone so healthy be so sick? Mike lost his battle with pancreatic cancer shortly after Mary Helen’s first birthday, 9 months after his diagnosis, and minutes before his 46^th birthday. Please join the Horner, Dunne, Balducci, and Pietryla families as they partner with Project Purple to host the 3rd annual 5K Horner Hustle Fun Run/Walk from anywhere in the country, raising funds for early detection and, ultimately, a cure for pancreatic cancer.

The Horner Hustle for 2020 has gone virtual, in order to keep everyone comfortable and safe. The purpose and fun of this event remains the same, you can just participate from anywhere in the country.

How does it work?

1. Register to participate.

2. Receive your custom bib via email

3. On August 15th, complete either the 1 mile walk or 5k run wearing your bib from wherever you are.

4. Take and post pictures and videos to social media using #hornerhustle, #projectpurple, and tag @projectpurple.
