San Mateo PAL / Stride for Awareness 5K
As our strong community band together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, SMPAL and SFA are saddened that the 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk for Student Health and Mental Wellness is cancelled. We look forward to holding this event with you and everyone, Together and Stronger, in 2021.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we encourage everyone to exercise self-care, stay connected, and remember that you make a difference.
The 5K Run/Walk and Resource Fair is San Mateo PAL and Stride for Awareness’ campaign to raise awareness about the importance of Student Health and Mental Wellness. The event encourages open discussion on the topic so we can guide teens toward a healthy mind, body and community.
No matter what the challenges young adults face today, our community’s support provides them the strength to persevere and achieve a bright tomorrow.
San Mateo Police Activities League empowers the Youth. Since 1997, SMPAL has provided recreational, educational, and leisure activities at little or no cost to thousands of San Mateo youth. Supported by a volunteer board of directors and a staff consisting of police officers, Parks & Recreation Staff and city employees, the San Mateo Police Activities League is building a stronger and safer community through kids – our most valuable asset.
Stride for Awareness was created in the spirit of involvement and the power of community working together for a common goal. Its mission is to bring people together and address important issues to better ourselves, our community, and the world we live in. SFA strives to work with community leaders and organizations to promote discussion, education and understanding of critical issues.
