In light of today’s announcement by the Alberta government regarding Covid19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Moonlight Run, which was to be held on March 21. We know the Moonlight Run is an event that people look forward to year-round, but the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and community must come first.
All registered participants and volunteers can expect an email early next week with further details.
The Moonlight Run is southern Alberta's largest road race! With a 6K run/walk and a 10K run, there is something for everyone to participate in. The race starts at 8:00 PM from CASA and follows a route into the river valley before returning to CASA.
Pricing for this year's event is as follows:
- $30.00 Adult Entry (16+)
- $10.00 Youth Entry (15 & under)
- Add $15.00 for Adult Sweatshirt
- Add $10.00 for Youth Long-sleeved T-shirt
- Add $2.00/Extra Pizza Ticket (one slice included with entry)

Entry Deadline
This year's entry limit is 2500 participants. This popular race has typically filled up in the past, so get your entry in early!
The shirt deadline for this year is March 10, 2020 or when the entry limit is reached.
Race Package Pickup at CASA
Package Pickup will be held at CASA (230 8 Street South):
- Friday March 20, 2020 from NOON - 8 PM.
- Saturday March 21, 2020 11 AM - 4 PM.
A friend can pick up your race package for you.
Course Information
Routes for both the 6K and 10K will remain the same as last year. Check out the map for details.
- The 10K is for runners only and will start at 8 PM.
- The 6K is for both runners and walkers and will start at 8:15 PM.
Both the 6K and 10K courses will close at 9:30 PM.
Strollers are allowed but are encouraged to start towards the back of the group. There are no dogs allowed in either event.
The Moonlight Run is making an effort to go green. We encourage all participants to bring their own reusable bottles or cups.
Awards and Results
There will be overall awards for the top male and female finishers in both the 6K and 10K events:
- 1st - $300 and a special award
- 2nd - $200
- 3rd - $100
Medals will be awarded to the top five participants in each age category for both male and female.
The medal presentation will begin immediately after the event in CASA's community events room.

Changes, Refunds, and Wait List
You must run the distance that you enter and must wear your race number and timing chip. Changes to your selected distance will only be allowed up to March 16, 2020, and must be emailed to randy@racepro.ca.
We apologize for the inconvenience but no refunds will be issued. Entries may be transferred but the race committee must be notified at randy@racepro.ca.
If the Moonlight Run fills up a wait list will not be offered.

Charities
The Moonlight Run has donated over $210,000 to local charities through funds raised during past events. This year's charity will be the South Alberta Walk for Dog Guides, a charity that trains service dogs for disabled individuals who qualify for a service dog.
