Dignity Health Family Remembrance Run

Thank you for your amazing support!! As of Monday, April 27th at noon, all medals from our original order have now been sold!! We will be placing an additional order of medals once registration closes on May 4th. It’s So Much More than a 5K…

We want to continue the efforts to support these families, both emotionally and monetarily, through donations from our virtual 5k walk/run. This fundraiser supports their activities as a perinatal bereavement support group for the next year.

Get Ready to Race on May 2nd (or prior)...

1. Register online and pay by May 1st to show your support!
2. Choose a socially-responsible location – your treadmill, your neighborhood, even your bike (3 miles ridden = 1 mile run)
3. Post any wishes to our families in bereavement on our Facebook event page
4. Choose your own app or try MapMyTrack (free download)
5. Run/walk the 1 mile or 3.1 miles (5K) or riding a bicycle certainly counts too
6. Post your finish, photo or run on our Facebook event page.
7. If you see a hummingbird on your walk or run, post those photos! They are messengers from heaven!
8. Receive your T-shirt and medal in the mail sent by StartLine Racing after May 4 (To "get the T-shirt" register early by April 20th)
9. A couple of finishers who post their results will receive a cool runner's swag bag!

StartLine Racing has been a health care partner of Dignity Health since the beginning. We always operate our races in a safe and professional manner. We will offer a “Virtual Race” just the same way. For those who already registered, your shirt and medal will be mailed to you at the address you provided during registration. If you need to make changes to your address or have any questions please let us know. We hope families will consider running, walking or biking in a safe location near your home for at least a mile, and preferably the 5K, or going outside on May 2^nd in honor of these families we all support.

T-shirts ordered or registrations placed before April 20th will arrive the week of May 4th courtesy of StartLine Racing. Should your personal circumstances warrant, contact them to return your donation payment paid before the pandemic caused the cancellation of the in-person event. StartLine Racing wants to thank you in advance for your patience and support.

Registrations made after April 20th and before May 1st will not include a t-shirt, however, you will receive your finishers medal.

Your support for the Dignity Health Foundation and the Heaven’s Hummingbirds support group for infant bereavement is much appreciated!

"Run, Play and Give!"

Proceeds from the 2020 Family 5K will benefit the mission of a dedicated group of families seeking to provide empathy called the "Heaven's Hummingbirds". These bereaved parents, dedicated field experts and Dignity Health team members created a Perinatal Bereavement Support Group to empower and heal families in the East Valley who have suffered the loss of a baby. The funds will be used to offer support groups and supportive services during their grief journey by building a bridge from hospital to home.
