The Little Hercules Foundation Indoor Triathlon organized in partnership with Greenswell Events is a 60-minute indoor triathlon to raise awareness and needed funds for research to end Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Today, there is no cure and your vital support is needed to research treatment and find a cure. Please join the Little Hercules Foundation on Sunday, February 23 at Dublin Recreation Center to swim.bike.run to end Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Indoor Triathlon
Take part in a 60-minute indoor triathlon! Different than a traditional triathlon, each participant or relay team will have a set amount of time to swim, bike, and run with allotted transitions between activities. Fun and pressure-free, this event is great for both experienced triathletes and those competing in their first triathlon.
- 10-minute swim in a 25 meter lap pool (Depth will be 4 - 10')
- 30-minute bike on an indoor cycle
- 20-minute run on a indoor running track
Divisions will be split by gender. Relay teams will be scored separately. The club-based event at the Dublin Recreation Center offers a safe and simulated environment for athletes of all fitness levels. The event is ideal for athletes who have no experience in triathlon to experienced athletes looking for a fun challenge.
Why Participate?
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a rare, progressive, muscle-wasting disease. Most are diagnosed between 3-5, and lost the ability to walk by age 10-13. This disease is 100% fatal. Today, there is no cure for DMD, but with your help there can be one tomorrow.

The Triathlon
THE TRIATHLON
At your designated start time, athletes will begin with a 10-minute swim in the indoor pool. Shift gears and spend the next 30 minutes cycling in the main workout room. Then race toward the finish line with 20 minutes on the indoor track.
THE TRANSITIONS
Athletes are allowed 10 minutes to safely change from the pool to the cycling and five minutes to move from cycling to the indoor track.
THE SCORES
Race volunteers record the total distance covered during your swim, bike and run. The more distance you cover, the higher your score. The indoor triathlon is based on distance - the total event lasts for 75 minutes (60 minutes race time), consisting of:
Swim: 10 minutes
Transition 1 (Swim to Bike): 10 minutes ( from the pool to cycle)
Bike: 30 minutes on an indoor bike
Transition 2: 5-minutes (move from the cycle to indoor track)
Run: 20 minutes on the indoor track
Participants are scored based on the cumulative finish distance for all three disciplines. The swim distance is counted by the number of laps (0.015 miles per lap)and converted to the total distance in miles. Swim total will include a half lap (0.5) completed at the end of the 10 minutes.
Transition times are fixed between events and do not count toward participants’ scores.
