A NOTE FROM THE GAGE FAMILY:
Hey friends.
Welp… it’s official. Because of this darn virus, we won’t be able to gather in person on 5.23.20 for The Honor Connor Run. Yes, we’re bummed. But! In keeping with this year’s theme, we fully intend to make every day count. It’s safe to say based on current events, we all know what it means to persevere. We’re not gonna let a piddly little worldwide pandemic stop us. ;-) So, the race will go on, but a little differently this year.
The 8th Annual Honor Connor 5k & Smile Mile is now a virtual race. What exactly does that mean, you ask? That means at any time between May 23 and June 7, you can head out and run your race, using whatever 1 mile or 5k route you choose. Some of you have already registered (thank you!) and we’ll be sending you an email with your options. For those who have not yet registered, we’re now significantly discounting the registration rate to just $10 per runner. That’s a flat rate — no matter the distance you choose (1 mile or 5k) or the date you register (no more early bird rate).
When you register, you’ll receive your official 2020 Honor Connor 5k & Smile Mile race bib in the mail. Make sure you pin it on when you run your race When you’re finished with your race, you’ll submit your time (optional) on Race Roster, along with your pic, and when you do, we’ll mail your official finishers medal. (It’s so cute!) And yes! THE TOP THREE WINNERS in each age group will also be recognized and rewarded after the race is done.
So, let’s make today count. And let’s remember that when you run with us, you’re not only honoring Connor, you’re supporting The LV Project, which works to end preventable drownings and help others LiVe buoyantly, on water and in life. We hope you’ll join us. We may be running alone, but we’ll be running alone together.
Huge thanks to all the sponsors, teams, volunteers and runners who have joined us so far. In times like these, it’s more important than ever to #maketodaycount. 🙂We’ll miss seeing all of you in person this year, but can’t tell you how much we appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you for honoring our Connor.
— Brett, Dana & Riley Gage
