Fourteenth Annual CSC Gopher Attack
* GOPHER ATTACK 2020 HAS BEEN TRANSORMED TO A VIRTUAL RACE DUE TO COVID-19
* Registration has been re-opened for the Virtual event.
* All participants will receive a Gopher Attack toque and finisher medal.
* Fee for all distances is only $40 and 100% of new registration fees... less any mailing costs for "those from away" toques and medals... will be donated to the MS Society... we know that, because of the current economic situation, charities will face challenges meeting their funding targets, so hopefully we will be able to provide a bit of help.
* With the virtual race you won't have to just run on one specific day or at a specific location... the day, time and location is your choice... the registration deadline is Sunday, April 19 and the deadline to post results is Monday, April 20.
* Regina and area residents will pick up their toque and medal at a central location... timing and location will depend on whatever restrictions are in place. For those "from away", toques and medals will be sent in the mail.
* Besides raising funds for the MS Society we hope that Virtual Gopher Attack will provide a bit of motivational assistance to runners when they aren't able to race.

The CSC Gopher Attack is the earliest of the three major Saskatchewan marathons. It is a flat and fast course - in the past, it has had the highest percentage of Boston-qualifiers of any marathon in Canada. The course winds through the scenic Wascana Park and the University of Regina campus. It is a 21.1 km loop certified by Athletics Canada/Run Canada as being accurate according to the standards of the Road Running Technical Council. Marathon competitors who meet the Boston Marathon qualifying times will be eligible to enter the Boston marathon in the following year. It comprises three distances - marathon, half-marathon, and new for this year - a 10 k event. The event is a fund raiser for the MS Society of Canada.

There will be four fairly evenly spaced aid stations on the half-marathon route, offering water, sports drink. One aid station will have gels. The 10k course will have one aid station.
Post race refreshments will be served in the Wascana Centre starting at 9 AM and continuing to 2:30 PM.
Indoor toilets and porta-potties will be available in the Wascana Centre at the start, at 8.5 km, 21.1 km, 29.5 km, and at the finish.
The course will be closed at 2:00 PM Noon and the official timing will end at the same time. Runners who are still on the course past 2:00 PM will be responsible for their own safety on the paths and sidewalks and the street crossing. Finishing times longer than 6:00 hours will have to be recorded by the runners themselves and will be entered in the results manually if communicated to the race director either verbally at the race finish or by email to gopherdirector@gmail.com by 5:00 PM on the race day.
