SISTA STRUT MEMPHIS DRIVE THROUGH PARADE

UPDATE:

Due to the ongoing concerns with Covid-19, we have an alternate plan for our event this year. In an effort to keep everyone's safety as our top priority and to ensure proper social distancing, we are planning a drive through parade. Everyone that registers will still receive the Official Sista Strut T-Shirt, Official participant walk number that you will display on your car dash board, and all the great sponsor giveaways!

We encourage everyone to decorate their cars as we will have a "Best Decorated Car" prize! At no time is anyone allowed to get out of their vehicles for any reason. Participants must stay inside their cars for the duration of the drive through event.

PARADE ROUTE

Vehicles will enter at Access Gate 7 which is located on Early Maxwell off Central Avenue.

What is Sista Strut?

Sista Strut aims to heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, as well as provide information on community resources. Studies show that African American women are more likely to get breast cancer at a younger age and have a death rate from breast cancer higher than Caucasian women of the same age. Sista Strut recognizes the strength of survivors, their family and friends, heightens awareness, promotes early detection and the search for a cure.

Did you know?

• African American women in the U.S. have a 41% higher death rate from breast cancer than white women.
• African American women are more likely than white women to be diagnosed with breast cancer before age 40 and are more likely to be diagnosed with larger tumors.
• Awareness of these issues will help survival rates with earlier diagnoses.

Registration Fees:

Now - January 31st: $15 per individual / $20 per team member
February 1st - February 29th: $20 per individual / $25 per team member
March 1st - October 3rd: $25 per individual / $30 per team member

**When using a credit card to register online, please note there is a ~$3.50 per person processing fee**

Registration fee includes the Sista Strut t-shirt for both individual and team member sign ups. Team members will also receive the Sista Strut backpack as well as the opportunity to take a team photo at the event. Each participating member of a team must sign up as a team member in order to receive the Sista Strut t-shirt and backpack.

T-Shirt Pick Ups:

T-Shirts will be available to be picked up at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on the following days:

• Wednesday, September 30th from 10AM-6PM
• Thursday, October 1st from 10AM-6PM
• Friday, October 2nd from 10AM-6PM

We have 3 full days and plenty of room to allow for social distancing. Masks will be required to be worn during packet pickups.

NEW THIS YEAR: YOU MUST PLACE THE OFFICIAL RACE NUMBER IN YOUR CAR DASH BOARD IN ORDER TO RECEIVE SPONSOR GIVEAWAYS!

Everyone that signs up will get an official race number that you MUST have in order to receive the sponsor giveaways. This is ensure we have enough giveaways for our registered participants. You will receive this when you pick up your t-shirts.
