VOLUNTEER AT THE 2020 TAMARACK OTTAWA RACE WEEKEND
The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will need volunteers to help make this year’s event the best one yet! We can’t do it without you! You will be able to choose the area you’d like to volunteer in and you can volunteer with family and friends. This is also an ideal opportunity for high school students 14 years and older to fulfill their Community Involvement Activities required for Ontario Secondary School Diplomas.

BAGGAGE CHECK Closed
Check in a runner's bag that is stowed at the the Baggage Check tent and keep it in a secure location until it is claimed after the race.
FINISH LINE Closed
Greet runners just past the finish line and keep them moving through the water station and help distribute finisher medals.
INFORMATION BOOTH Closed
Greet runners and spectators at the expo site at the Shaw Centre as well as at Festival Plaza at Ottawa City Hall and provide event information as well as general information about the attractions around the city.
MARATHON RELAY SUPPORT CREW Closed
Serve as part of the crew that supports participants in the marathon relay, which takes place on Sunday, May 24th. Duties include directing runners, upon their arrival, to their exchange area;
MEDICAL TEAM Closed
Our team provides medical assistance to runners who require attention during or after their race. Volunteers are required to complete the questionnaire which indicates their current level of medical knowledge and experience. There are some restrictions based on age.
RACE KIT PICK UP Closed
Greet runners at the race expo and assist in the distribution of race numbers and t'shirts to participants.
RECOVERY AREA Closed
Meet runners as they enter into Confederation Park and provide post race nourishment to all.

ROUTE VOLUNTEER Closed
Route volunteers are stationed a various points along our race courses to ensure the safety of runners by keeping cars a safe distance from any access point. You will be situated at an intersection, standing behind a traffic barricade. Many positions are staffed by 2 volunteers.
RUN OTTAWA EXPO BOOTH AMBASSADORS Closed
Volunteer at the 'Run Ottawa' booth that is part of the Health and Fitness Expo. Answer questions and provide information on Run Ottawa events and the benefits of membership.
SITE SET UP CREW Closed
Assist organizers in the set up of the race site. This includes Festival Plaza, City Hall; finish line between Somerset Street West and Cartier Drill Hall; Confederation Park
SITE TEAR DOWN CREW Closed
Be part of the crew that dismantles various infrastructure on site and prepares it for shipping back to our storage facility or for pick up by a contractor. Work commences immediately after the conclusion of Sunday's races.
START LINE Closed
Aid in the set up of the start line area of all our races to assist getting runners into their proper start line position. This includes moving barricades and flags that indicate each start line corral. Be prepared to do some lifting.
WATER STATION - Finish Line Closed
Be part of the crew that serves water and 'Nuun' electrolyte replacement fluids to runners after they cross the finish line. Stations are set up for Saturday and Sunday races.
WATER STATIONS - ROUTE Closed
Be a volunteer at one of our water stations along the marathon or half marathon courses. Volunteers will be contacted by a water station captain to assist at their station.

- Shift 1: 9:30am - 3:30pm – Sort post race refreshment and stock the Recovery tent in preparation of the afternoon events.

- Shift 2: 2:00 pm - 8:30pm – Distribute food to runners after their race and continuous replacement throughout the day and assist with clean up
Sunday, May 26
- 7:00am - 1 : 00 pm - – Distribute food to runners after their race and continuous replacement throughout the day and assist with clean up
Water Station - Finish Line
Assist at one of our hydration stations during Saturday or Sunday races along with the rest of a team of volunteers, passing out water to participants during their event.

You will assist in securing the race courses for runners, as you will be posted to an intersection, serving as a race marshal.

Medical volunteers of all levels are welcome along the route, in the medical centre and in the Recovery area.
