Help Blair raise money

For participating in Michigan SCADaddle for Research

My Story…

As many of you know, I survived a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) heart attach two years ago. SCAD isn't well known in the medical community and, although there's research that's being done, we need much more. The Mayo Clinic has found that SCAD is a MAJOR source of heart attacks in otherwise healthy women WITHOUT known risk factors. After visiting the Mayo Clinic in 2018, I learned that I also have Fibromuscular Disease (FMD). Although there isn't a cure for FMD, it can be treated effectively. The relationship between FMD and SCAD is poorly understood. The Mayo clinic has found that the data suggests that the majority of patients with SCAD have coexisting extracoronary vascular abnormalities. We need to know more... for current and future survivors and their families. (The photo of Dr. Sharonne Hayes and myself is from the 2019 SCADaddle in Illinois. Dr. Hayes is an international expert on and a lead researcher for the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program.)
