UPDATE - COVID - 19

With heavy hearts we have decided to cancel the 2020 Sp'akw'us Event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we have faith that many of the current concerns and impacts that are currently looming will have dissipated by mid-June, we know that this event sees many of our participants training and preparing for many weeks/months in advance. We also have many international participants who travel to our community to participate. To ensure that this event continues to provide our participants with an amazing experience, we have decided to cancel the event for 2020, and we look forward to seeing you all gain in 2021.

Please be patient with us as we work through refunds for 2020 registrants only.

It’s all about the challenge, the community and the trails.

The inaugural Sp’akw’us 50 sold out all 600 entries in 2017. In 2018, the event grew from a single day event to a 3-Race Event. For 2020 we continue with hosting a 3-Race Event including the Sp’akw’us Challenge (a 2-Day Stage Race), and the individual events, the Sp’akw’us 50 (Saturday) & the Sp’akw’us 35 (Sunday) .

Entries for 2020 go on sale January 17, 2020 at 6:00pm PST.

Participants can choose between riding Saturday only, Sunday only, or the combined 2 days in the Sp'akw'us Challenge format. Course details will be updated closer to the event, but our participants can expect the events to highlight many of the trail favourites that make this event both challenging and fun.

The various race offerings provide something for everyone. One day enough? Enjoy a race suited to your interest and ability level with the 50 km or 35 km options. Come for the one-day race, stay for the 2-day party. But for those of you who want more, test your grit in the 2-day Challenge.

Registration Details

Registration for all events will open on January 17, 2020 at 6 pm PST.

Online Registration will close Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 at 11:59 pm PDT.

In celebrating the Leap Year, this year we are offering Early Bird Registration savings of $10, $20 for the Challenge, for all registrations on or before midnight, February 29th, 2020.

Also new this year, ONLY those registered on or before midnight March 31st, 2020 will receive one of our coveted Sp'akw'us T-Shirts.

Registration for the Sp'akw'us is open to all riders (restrictions for <17, please contact spakwusreg@gmail.com), both recreational and licensed. Placings for this event will be awarded in order of finish per category.

New for 2019: Online race transfers and deferrals.

You utilized it, we improved it. Our online transfers when so smoothly last year that we're building incentive for you to use it even more. For 2020 all transfers (between events and/or between riders) will be at a low price of $1.95. This is the price Race Roster charges us for an admin fee. So if you’re undecided about whether you want to do Sp’akw’us 35, 50, the Challenge or you determine that 2020 just isn't your year, you can register with confidence, taking advantage of our Early Bird Special, knowing if you change your mind, you can transfer your entry.

All online transfers must be completed by Friday, June 12^th, 2020 at midnight, following which transfers can only be done in-person at the event site between 6 pm – 7 pm PDT, Friday, June 19th, 2020.
