Fun Run: $25 (MAHDS members receive a $5 discount at checkout - just have your membership # handy! MAHDS memberships are only $25 for the year and can also be purchased at checkout or by using the "Join Club" button on this page!)
Info Session: FREE! Advance registration is requested, as it helps us plan, but isn't required.
Try-a-Trail Kicksled/Skijor/Bikejor: FREE! Please stop in to see us at the registration table in the Chignecto Pavillion before hitting the trails.
Spectators: FREE
Park Entry: $7/person for the day. Passes available for purchase at the Pavillion. Passes are included if you are registered for the Fun Run (just show your Race Roster confirmation to Park Staff if asked!)

In advance via Race Roster. Deadline to register online is Friday, February 14 at 5pm.
Day-of Registration available from 9-9:30am. Must have cash (exact change only).
Warming Station: Come warm up in the beautiful Chignecto Pavillion anytime during the day! You can enjoy a warm beverage courtesy of Budha Bear Cafe and chat with reps from the Moncton Dog Runners Club, the Fundy Guild and MAHDS! The Pavillion is dog-friendly, but please keep your dogs close, under control and ensure they are quiet & polite as it is a relatively small space and we want everyone to feel comfortable & safe!

Snow Canicross Fun Run Closed
This year's canicross fun run will take place on the "B" Trail (brown snowshoe loop on Fundy Winter Trail Map: https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/nb/fundy/visit/cartes-maps). This will be an extremely fun loop to run! Please be sure to wear trail shoes with good grip - road shoes will not be sufficient!!

Harness Dog Sports Info Session Closed
A fun-filled info session provided by the Maritime Association of Harness Dog Sports (MAHDS) and DogRunnin. This is a great opportunity to learn about harness dog sports - what they are, how they work, and what you need to get started! It is not necessary to bring your dog to the session, however there will be opportunity to try your dog in harness following the information portion (please note, gear must be requested and reserved in advance).

Equipment & Rules
All participants should review the MAHDS Code of Conduct & Rules for Participants prior to the event in order to ensure they safety of all of our human and canine competitors.
Spectators are asked to remember that dogs in harness are working and should not be approached without explicit permission from their human teammate.
Gear: All dogs and their humans must be properly outfitted with gear that is safe for harness dog sports (pulling harness, bungee line, hands-free waistbelt for canicross/skijor, neckline for 2-dog bike, ski or sled). Helmets must be worn for all activities apart from canicross. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!!
Age of Dogs: Dogs must be 12 months of age to participate in the fun run. It is recommended dogs under 12 months of age stick to distances under 3K if hitting the trails after the fun run, however this is up to individual dog owners. Note, the ski/bike/sled loops are conveniently 1.2 km and 1.3 km!

> Canicross = 1 dog
> Skijor / Fatbikejor / Kicksled = 1 or 2 dogs
All teams of 2 must use a neckline.
TRAIL MAP
The Chignecto Recreation Area is broken into 2 parts. The 2020 Winter Trail Map indicates the available loops for skijo, kicksled, fat bikejoring (J & K loops) & snowshoeing (A and B loops) as well as the distance for each. We will be using the "B" loop for the canicross fun run!

FUN RUN
A fun and engaging course, this is sure to be a blast for all skill levels. Come out and enjoy this beautiful winter wonderland with your canine teammate! No experience required, but must have appropriate gear (see below or send us a message).
INFO SESSION
A quick introduction to pulling harnesses and other gear, the different types of harness dog sports and how to get started building your team led by harness dog sports instructor, Sarah Peel.
Sarah & Chester (her 8 year old greyster) traveled to Bristol, Quebec in October 2019 where they raced to become Canadian National Champions in canicross!
Sarah & Chester will be on hand throughout the day to answer all your harness dog sports questions.
Participants in the info session will also have the opportunity to have their dogs properly measured & fitted and to try out some gear courtesy of DogRunnin & Nahak Sports.
CHIGNECTO RECREATION TRAILS
The wonderful folks at Fundy National Park have been working hard to groom dog-friendly trails for us to use for snow sports!
Chignecto North: Skis, kicksleds and fat bikes only on J & K loops.
Chignecto South: Canicross & Canihiking (with or without snow shoes) on A & B loops.
Parking is available next to the trail head & use of the trails is free!
