KWC Classic
The first annual KWC Classic will take place on Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th 2020. This two day event will begin at 3pm on Saturday, March 14th with a tailgating party at Hastings Park, with live music, a Kids Zone and food and drinks available for purchase. The celebration will continue on Sunday, March 15th at 2:00pm with family skating and hockey games (hockey players must be 18+) at at the John P. Chase Skating Facility (Hayden Ice Rink) in Lexington, MA. This event has been created to celebrate and remember a beloved member of the Lexington community, Katie Whittemore Collin. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Katie than combining the things she loved most; family, friends, fun and hockey!
This year’s event will not only be a celebration of Katie’s life, but a fundraiser for The Children’s Room in Arlington, MA. Katie’s husband Fraser and their four amazing kids attend bereavement peer support groups at the The Children’s Room. This year Fraser will run the Boston Marathon in memory of Katie and in support of this wonderful organization that works so hard to help kids and families all over Massachusetts who have experienced the tragedy of the loss of a loved one. The funds we raise from this event will go to creating safe and supportive communities to ensure that no child, teen or family has to grieve alone.
