virtual Pride Run 2020

The spirit of the Winnipeg FrontRunners Pride Run is going to persist despite COVID-19! For this year, we are shifting the event to a fun, non-competitive running or walking virtual event open to all members of the LGBT2SQ+ community and their supporters. Our sixth annual event will take place during the week of Winnipeg Pride. You will need to complete your virtual distance between 5-12 September, 2020. You will run at your own pace along your own route - while maintaining proper physical distancing from others. We will share some running guidelines and tips on how to complete the virtual event during these times of COVID-19.

The theme for our virtual Pride Run is Pride Moves. We welcome runners and walkers of all experience levels. Just wear your most colourful running or walking gear and your positive, Pride-filled energy. We will arrange for race kit pick up ahead of the virtual Pride Run week or mail you your items. That way when you complete your virtual run, you can snap a photo and post it to social media with #pridemoves and #wpgpriderun.

As in years past, the Pride Run is a fundraiser for Reaching Out Winnipeg (ROW), a local organization that helps resettle LGBT2SQ+ refugees to Canada. The people they help face persecution and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity - something seen in several countries around the world.
