We are so grateful for everyone who VIRTUALLY came together to provide safety and help strengthen women and children fleeing domestic abuse!
The Dwelling Place provides support services and a safe place to call home
for women and children fleeing abuse.

Our Cause
The Dwelling Place is a Christian ministry that provides long-term transitional housing, basic needs, trauma-informed supportive services, educational programs and mentoring for women and their children fleeing domestic violence. The Dwelling Place fulfills the need for healing time and personal development by providing comprehensive programs for 12 months (or longer, if needed), allowing women and children the precious gift of time.
Our capacity increased in 2019 so that we are now able to serve up to 57 women and children at a time. All support for the Dwelling Place is greatly appreciated!
Our 2020 Race Goals:
- Raise awareness about domestic abuse and The Dwelling Place
- Register 150+ runners/walkers
- Raise (at least) $25,000 for The Dwelling Place!
Our Race :
- 5K Race (timed with an app) for runners/walkers age 12 and older
- Family Friendly, Team Oriented, and Globally Accessible!
Race Details:
The Dwelling Place 2nd Annual VIRTUAL "Run Strong!" 5K engaged runners and walkers who completed their race where they were and when they wanted over a two-week period of time (July 6-20). Racers posted their time on the results page

VIRTUAL Run Strong 5K! (Age 11 and under) Closed
Race begins July 6 and concludes July 20. Register children age 11 and under for the race. No timing system is provided in this age category.

Event extends over a two-week period (July 6-20). The Dwelling Place 5K is a virtual race for runners/walkers age 12 and older. Participants receive a timing app and a race time (posted at completion of the two-week virtual race period.)
