My Story…

I have been a migraine sufferer for almost 4 years. They are due to post concussive syndrome from a car accident in 8/16. Migraines have had a huge impact on my general health and well being, as well as my confidence in my own abilities. The attacks I suffer can put me out for hours, days, or even weeks. The side effects from medicines I have to take to control migraine attacks take their toll as well. In July I left a position I had held for almost four years, as the almost weekly migraine episodes made it impossible for me to provide the services my position required. Since leaving, I have seen a decrease in the attacks. Logically one would assume that the improvement of my symptoms is due to not being in front of two computer screens and juggling two phones all day. While it is great to have some relief, I wonder What is left for me now? Through events like this, we raise money hoping doctors can find a solution, so migraine sufferers are spared the shame and fear I live with now.
