Help Ted raise money

For participating in Breathe Bike Trek: 1-Day Challenge Ride

My Story…

Friends and Family - well, here we are together again! Only this time all separately sequestered in our own homes!  Better safe than  sorry (or sick or dead) fits in this situation.  So I hope you are all safe!!  I expect a lot of us are also now sequestering because of poor air quality from the fires all up and down the west coast now.  This situation is a perfect time to consider all the folks who have lung health issues they deal with daily and what a challenge this situation presents to them.  Asthma sufferers along with those that have COPD or other lung health issues are now doubly challenged with COVID virus threats.  Our collective situation is exactly part of the reasons that I have continued to fundraise for Breathe California over the past 10 years.  This year our annual bike tour fundraising event has also been challenged and ultimately postponed multiple times so far due to the air quality and COVID health problems. Our Challenge ride this year is now only a single day event, and it has been a moving target as to the date of the ride. The smokey air and COVID has created a new challenge to conduct a ride with our team mates in a safe and healthy way.  BUT, being outside and biking to highlight clean air and lung health awareness and assistance is still happening against this backdrop of lung health challenges for us all!  Rest assured I will be riding when we have the right conditions hopefully this October now.

So I'm reaching out to all of you to seek your support for Breathe California and its mission through supporting me in this year's Challenge Ride.  I set a fundraising goal of $500 which would mean I am looking for 25 of my friends/family/coworkers/friends of friends that would be able to donate $20 each!! Or any amount that you feel you can, which is also just perfect!  Together we all can make a difference in our common shared resource (Clean Air!) and help those who you may know get help to work on managing their lung health issues.  One very interesting data point related to sequestering due to COVID is that the air quality in CA has seen a dramatic improvement over our pre-COVID lifestyles.  So this is proof that if we all use alternatives to reduce driving our ICE cars, our common health and environmental quality can certainly be improved. And who doesn't enjoy breathing clean air and being able to see vistas across CA that have been hidden from us due to poorer air quality in the past??  I hope this finds you well and staying safe in this unique time.  I look forward to hearing from anyone here and someday getting to see each other in person too!

Thank you in advance for any donation you can make to my fundraising this year!!

Peace!

-Ted
