Overview
This evaluation is for coaches who have completed the NCCP Competition Introduction course, completed the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions on-line evaluation, and demonstrate they are actively involved in coaching an athlete for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the February 29 2020 evaluation (as demonstrated by their Evaluation Training Plan). Ideally this is a new athlete who has not competed before.
Please review the following information carefully before registering for the evaluation and be aware that space is limited to five candidates.
Evaluation Process
Coaching candidates should review the CWFHC's Competition Introduction Coaches Portfolio Planning Tool and must complete Step 1 (Coach Profile); Step 2 (Athlete Profile); Step 3 (Analyze Performance); Step 5 (Develop an EAP); Step 6 (Support the Competitive Experience); Step 7 (Submit Evaluation Training Plan using this template--make a copy of the file and save); Step 8 (coach your athlete at the February 29 2020 Ironstone Strength and Conditioning club meet); and Step 9 (complete the MED online evaluation).
All documents are due by midnight February 08 2020 (email to coaching@nsweightlifting.ca). Material submitted after this date will not be accepted. This timeline allows Evaluators an opportunity to review and contact any candidates to request updates and information or revisions to submitted information in time for the evaluation. Evaluators will confirm with coaches directly if their Evaluation Training Plan meets standards by February 15 2020. Coaching Candidates whose Training Evaluation Plan does not conform to the requirements of the Evaluators will not be eligible for evaluation.
After the February 29 2020 evaluation, the Evaluators will provide final results to Coaching Candidates. Evaluators will submit relevant NCCP registration forms of successful Coaching Candidates to the Coaching Association of Canada by March 15, 2020. No refunds will be given to candidates who are unsuccessful in their evaluations.
Coaching Candidates and their athletes must be members of the NSWA.
