Indoor Triathlons are trending! We love the concept of an indoor triathlon for the great opportunity to test our winter fitness and kickstart the 2020 season. The design of the Tri Fit Challenge works well for all abilities and experience. It's a great way to introduce the sport to the tri-curious and meet our encouraging triathlon community.
Participants will be divided into heats, depending on which option you choose you will have either 5 minutes or 10 minutes to swim as many laps as you can in the pool, 10 minutes or 20 minutes to bike on a stationary bike, and then either 10 minutes or 20 minutes to run as many laps as you can on the 143m indoor track. Everyone has the same 5 minutes to transition between activities. So choose either the Tri 5-10-10 or the Tri 10-20-20 combination.
Register in the heat you want (you can participate at the same time with friends or family). There will be 12 people per heat, and heats will alternate between the shorter event (Tri 5-10-10) and the longer event (Tri 10-20-20).
First timers to the experienced triathletes are invited to challenge themselves. (Note that new or weaker swimmers can ask for accommodations - ie. outside lane or a kick option with a kick board, but should be capable of swimming in deep water).
** Proceeds from this event will go towards replacing outdated spin bikes in the Acadia fitness complex and support the Acadia TriFit program, as well as community fitness programming. In the event of a weather cancellation we will reschedule for a new date in April/May.
