My Story…
We walk with Dystonia daily at our house and once a year we walk For Dystonia. Dystonia has been with our family, at our home, for almost 6 years. At first Dystonia was not the best housemate, totally debilitating my dear spouse. He was in constant pain and his body was doing unspeakable things that made it difficult for him to function. My spouse never complains about his Dystonia, even though some days I know his body hurts and the injections he receives to tame our uninvited housemate are painful. We have learned to work with Dystonia in our home and we are thankful for all we have, our neurologist, the current treatments and for the DMRFC. I walk for hope there can be a cure, I walk for my spouse so he knows how proud I am of him and love him. While we are not together as a group this year, I will walk thinking about everyone with Dystonia and how I want for all of you what I want for my own spouse - to be able to walk For Dystonia once a year and not with Dystonia daily.
