Brody is 12 year old boy from Barrie Ontario who is fighting brain cancer. He has a very rare kind of brain cancer in children called Rhabdoid Meningioma. He is currently undergoing his third bout of cancer treatments in 4 years. In October of 2019 the cancer returned and Brody is now having to undergo Chemotherapy.

The first two rounds of IV Chemo did not reduce the tumor, and doctors now recommend an oral chemo treatment “new” for children that is not covered by employer benefits or fully paid for by OHIP. Out-of-pocket expenses will potentially be up to $5,000 to $10,000 for the Rankka family.

The fundraising donations raised through the Ride-a-Thon will assist the Rankka family with chemo medication, travel, and meal expenses. Brody is being treated at Sick Kids Hospital and Southlake Hospital in Newmarket.

The Bike-for-Brody fun event will host 8 Teams of 4 riders each riding on CompuTrainer smart trainers for LIVE RACING stats and times, compliments of The RAD Room! All rider-levels are welcome to participate to bring or join a team. Each rider will cycle 30 minutes for their team and for Brody; AND for a chance to claim the "King of Mountain" Grand Prize, and lots of other prizes and give-a-ways too!

DONATIONS can be made through this web page at Race Roster. Donors can sponsor either a Team or a specific Rider of their choice, or both! The ride is not an official charitable incorporated event (we're just a bunch of Brody love'n, cancer hate'n folk), and the organizers unfortunately are not able to provide tax-deductible receipts for donations. However, we THANK YOU very much for all generous donations.
