Do I have to run or walk on Thanksgiving Monday?
You can run or walk any day you would like. You have until the end of Thanksgiving Monday to complete your run or walk and then upload the results to Race Roster.

How do I know I have done 5K?
Some people have electronic tracking devices that measure their distance (e.g., GPS). If you do not, you can use an online mapping program to map a 5K route to complete. If really stuck, email us and we can offer a 5K suggested route.

I don't want to do 5K.
You don't have to. You can choose the option of "Pick Your Own Distance Virtual Turkey Trot"

Can you suggest an online mapping program?
There are lots of programs out there when you Google for them. This is one https://onthegomap.com/#/create . You just right click to drop a start point and continue to right click along your planned route to get a measurement.

How do I upload my results?
You can manual enter your results in Race Roster by going to https://results.raceroster.com/results/e3et5dcx22xpueah.
You may choose to take a picture of your electronic device's read out and post send it in as well.

Can’t someone lie about their results?
Yes, but where is the fun in that. This is not the Olympics, it is for fun. We hope you challenge yourself to participate at the level you want. Whether that is trying to do a personal best 5K run or you are just trying to enjoy a stroll around town, we hope you have fun and honour the system. Obvious discrepancies will be deleted. No one is running 5K in 10 minutes.

What if I do not want to enter my results?
You do not have to. Enjoy the idea that you are supporting a great cause.

Are there medals?
No medals, but Race Roster will allow you to print out a finisher’s certificate after October 12th.

Who gets prizes?
We will do some random draws from the participant list and deliver prizes to these lucky people. If you choose to try for the Golden Drumstick trophy and you win, you will get a prize and the trophy too!.

Can I make a team?
Yep. When you register there is an option to make a team.

Can I run with others?
This depends what the advice is current around social distancing. Check before you make your pack.

Can I run with the Northumberland Turkey Trot guy?
Maybe. He does like to run and he does like to share a run. If social distancing is practiced, I am sure he’d take you up on an invite to run 5K. Costume may be optional.

How do you run in a full turkey costume?

What is the best way to cook my turkey?
If you are lucky like me, you are invited somewhere where they are cooking the turkey for you. However, if you are the cook, take a look at how the good people at Simple Bites suggest cooking a turkey.
