Location: Lincoln and Minnesota Avenues, In front of Willow Glen Elementary School

Willow Glen 5K’s flat and USATF-certified race course starts in San Jose’s Willow Glen downtown and winds through neighborhood streets, with racers cheered on by local businesses and residents.

Racers, families and neighbors are then invited to a post-race festival, awards ceremony and kids’ fun zone. Sponsor booths, pancake breakfast, music, games, massage therapy, and a dedicated kids’ area – all spread out over two areas of the Willow Glen Elementary school campus.

Proceeds from the race go to local elementary school PTAs to fund after-school programs such as: arts, music, science, sports, technology and many more.

A message from the director about the virtual race

Let me start by thanking you for your continued support of the Willow Glen 5k Run/Walk for Education. If it wasn’t for racers like you, we would not be able to provide art, science, music, and PE for our area public schools.

With the extra precautions we are all taking as a global society to keep everyone healthy, we have decided to move to a virtual race format.

What is different

Each racer is now running a 5k on their own or in small family groups
You can run your race any day in May
Race bags will be mailed to your home

What is the same

You will still get your race shirt, bib number, and sponsor swag bag
Running or walking a 5k is a great accomplishment and can be a family activity
Local schools are still getting the benefit of your participation

We will be mailing out Race Packets weekly starting at the end of April. Be sure to wear your race shirt and bib number when you run your 5k! Take a picture and post it to social media with the hashtag #wg5k2020.

Packet Pickup

Note: please bring this sheet with you to packet pick up with your bib number(s) on it to avoid long waits.

Dates will be added for packet pickup closer to the date of the race.

Race packet includes race number, T-shirt and race bag with sponsor offers. Just bring a copy of your email confirmation. Race packets are not available via mail.

Race day packet pick-up and registration will be available 7-8:30 a.m., however, race numbers and t-shirts are not guaranteed and lines will be long. So, please consider registering early and picking up your race packet at Presenting Sponsor, San Jose Swim & Racquet Club (see above for dates and times).

Regulations

Entry fees are non-transferable and non-refundable
You must be in good health and physically prepared to run the race
A race number is required to run the race
Strollers are welcome
No bicycles, wagons, in-line skates, skateboards, scooters or dogs (except for working) permitted
Willow Glen 5K Race officials have the right to disqualify or remove from the course any participant whose activity violates any condition set forth or who poses any harm to himself/herself or any other participant
