Help MARIA raise money

Dear Friends & Family,

I will be participating in a 5k fund-raising event on October 11th, benefitting the Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida.  Prior to my virtual 5k run I will be raising funds and I wanted to reach out to all of you to see if there's any way you can help with this cause.  But first a little back story.  Some of you may remember the day my granddaughter Emma was born.  She had a challenging birth and spent ten days in NICU in Orlando.  While my son was working at a new job, Brittnee was well enough to come to Orlando and spend time with Emma at the hospital.  Instead of having to drive back to their home on the coast, Ronald McDonald House provided lodging and meals for her so she could stay a night close by.  I got to keep Brittnee company that evening and we made the most of it, keeping our spirits high and staying grateful.  The best day for my family was when Emma was well enough to go home.  That was nine years ago.  Since then, I've been volunteering a couple days each year.  I am there baking goods, cooking lunch, or preparing snack bags for the residents.  Each time I see the residents my heart is full.  I know what they are going through because I remember that feeling of helplessness and I am grateful to be there in any capacity I can.  I'm grateful for Florida Hospital's staff and the care Emma received and I am grateful for the Ronald McDonald House for providing a room for my family.  Ronald McDonald House is the blanket that keeps the patient's family warm at night and it makes me want to do more.  Today, Emma is an intelligent, healthy and beautiful 9-year old girl and for that I am most grateful.

My company (National Retail Properties, Inc.) is starting my donation at $100.  They will match any funds I raise (up to $500).
