We have extended this event to August 30th, 2020!

Lace up your sneakers and adjust your Mickey ears, this event is going to be a lot of fun! You are invited to a run or walk a 5k virtually! That's right, you get to help make magical memories for deserving kids from the comfort of your own community.

Dreams Take Flight Halifax takes children on the trip of a lifetime. In a short 24 hour period, over 140 children from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island fly to Orlando, Florida and spend one magical day in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Anyone can participate in this event. You pick the date, time and location and walk or run 5KM at your own pace (please practice social distancing and follow the recommendations set by your government).

Be sure to track your run/walk using an app such as Runkeeper or an app of your choice. Once you have completed it, you will be able to upload your results to your Race Roster account and this will notify us that we can ship out your custom medal and some Dreams Take Flight swag to you. The cost to participate is $30 per person with all proceeds going to Dreams Take Flight Halifax.

We encourage you to have fun with this! Wear your favourite Disney attire and snap a photo to upload to social media using our fun hashtag #5kforamagicalday. We want to create a great collection of photos of people having a blast while helping out a wonderful charity.

Complete the event and submit your results by August 30th, 2020.

Dreams Take Flight is a 100% volunteer run organization, which means that all funds raised go directly to the children they help. We can’t thank you enough for helping make magical memories for deserving kids!
