TIME: 9:00am-5:00pm both days

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will be an in depth coverage of first aid topics requested by the WCC leadership group including:

- spinal injuries

- fractures/splinting

- CPR overview

- head injuries

- Concussion- recognition, acute management, Rowan's Law

- heat stroke vs. exhaustion

- asthma

- EPI pens

- bleeding

-situation control

FOOD:

Some coffee and refreshments will be provided for morning and afternoon snacks. A 30-45 minute lunch break will occur both days. Feel free to pack a lunch and eat in the office or go out for lunch.

INSTRUCTOR:

Laura Hewitson is an experienced first aid and leadership instructor. She has been teaching courses for almost 20 years in Waterloo Region. Full time she works with her husband, Michael Hewitson, as a local real estate agent with Royal LePage Wolle Realty.

Laura currently volunteers with the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce and Run Waterloo. She enjoys running, swimming and spending time with her family.
