Amur Leopard Conservation Run
Zookeepers at the Memphis Zoo are organizing the first annual Amur Leopard Conservation Run! This virtual 5k is open from April 1st to April 25th and benefits the conservation of Amur leopards which are critically endangered. There are only about 100 individuals left in the wild and around 320 Amur leopards total, making it the rarest big cat in the world. The Memphis Zoo is one of the fortunate zoos to have an Amur leopard and the zookeepers are dedicated to the conservation of this important leopard subspecies. All the proceeds of this virtual 5k will benefit WildCats Conservation Alliance, a non-profit international organization that focuses on anti-poaching, conflict mitigation, population monitoring, wildlife-health monitoring, and educational outreach. You can check out this organization at https://conservewildcats.org/
Encourage your friends to to participate, register, print your bib, and take pictures to post on social media using the hashtag #runfortheroar.
