In 2018, Adel B. Korkor, M.D. set out on a mission: to run a 5k in fifty states in fifty days. All around the nation he and thousands of participants met on the starting line of fifty consecutive races with the shared goal to increase awareness of the silent mental health crisis that plagues citizens of the United States.
Dr. Korkor has now successfully completed two years of his 5k.50.50 race series, and his impact continues to spread. This year, he isn’t giving up on his mission and we ask you to join us as we raise funds to support critical mental healthcare services provided by the AB Korkor Foundation for Mental Health.
In light of the Covid-19/Coronavirus Pandemic, and in an effort to keep our participants both mentally and physically healthy, we have taken important steps to REIMAGINE how we are running the 2020 5k.50.50. Run/Walk for Mental Health.
Though we will not be meeting you locally, we will come together with a shared cause. From now until June 14th, please register below to join us on our mission. During the month of May, triple your impact by inviting two other friends to take part in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month in the US.
The 5k.50.50 REIMAGINED allows everyone, everywhere to SAFELY run, walk, or workout from home whenever they are able. Are you not comfortable heading outside? No problem! We will provide guidelines for easy at-home participation. Complete your pledge by June 14th, and support individuals battling mental health challenges. Help us reach our goal of at least 50 VIRTUAL RUNNERS in ALL 50 STATES, as we work together to change the dialogue of mental illness, one step at a time!
