NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota

NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota aims to develop and sustain a constituency that uses the political process to guarantee people of all genders the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota is the state affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America.

NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota was founded in 1966, before abortion was legalized in the United States. For more than fifty years, we have been fighting for reproductive rights in Minnesota. Although our goals and tactics have changed throughout the years with the political climate, our fundamental ideals have remained the same: that reproductive choice is a constitutional right essential and that abortion should be safe, legal, and accessible.

During legislative session, we’re at the Capitol fighting for choice at every level, whether it’s helping to draft proactive legislation, testifying in committee, or lobbying individual legislators. Our field and phone canvasses are active year-round, talking to members and organizing Minnesota’s pro-choice constituency. During the school year, our Campus Representatives at colleges and universities statewide are organizing other young people and learning the skills they’ll need as the next generation of pro-choice activists.

At our core, NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota is our membership – we are the tens of thousands of Minnesotans across the state dedicated to reproductive freedom.
