How do I complete the Virtual Race and upload my result?
There are three options for completing your virtual race and uploading your result.
Option 1: ASICS Runkeeper™️ app (Run with your phone)
- Download the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app from the App Store to your mobile phone (download here)
- Closer to the event start date (1 July), you will receive an email/s with a unique race link for each race you have entered to enable you to add your race/s into the Runkeeper™️ app. You must click on this link from your mobile device. You can also find each unique link on your participant dashboard (here). If you have trouble signing into your Race Roster account please contact support@raceroster.com. Please note that if you have registered for one of the event bundles you'll have multiple emails with links to each different race (e.g. Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Virtual Marathon, ASICS Virtual Half Marathon etc) so make sure you select the one you want to run on that particular day!
- Add your race/s into the Runkeeper™️ app before you start (you can add them all as soon as you like even if you aren't planning to run your race until later in July). When your app shows a red dot on the chequered flag icon (on the Start > Free Run screen), your virtual race/s has been successfully added. We recommend setting this up before your personal race day to ensure it's ready to go!
- When you are ready to run your race click on the chequered flag within the Runkeeper™️ app and follow the prompts to select your event, select your race and click on "Start Your Race".
- There is a 3-second countdown and then GO your race has started - good luck!!
- Select 'pause' and then 'stop' once you have finished your race distance and then 'save' to complete the race and your results will be automatically loaded to the live race results leader board (click here to view the results page).

Option 2: Use your GPS running device and/or GPS running app to record your race & manually upload your result to the results page
- Set your device or running app to record your run.
- On your marks, get set, GO – good luck!!
- Upon completion of your selected race, click here and select "Submit a virtual result". From here, you will be prompted to sign in to your Race Roster account or you can enter your last name and confirmation number (from your Race Roster event confirmation email).
- Input your completed time, load a screenshot of your completed race from your Runkeeper™️ app (or other tracking app) or a photo of your race results shown on your GPS watch as verification and agree to the terms.
- Once you click "Submit result" your result will be automatically loaded to the live race results leader board.
Here is a video to explain the manual upload process:
Running your virtual race on a treadmill? No problem, follow the steps for Option 3 - you will need to take a photo of your result displayed on your treadmill and load this photo as your verification.
You may also use Option 2 if you complete your race distance again later in the month and record a faster time and you'd like to override your earlier time.
Option 3: Use your GPS running device (Garmin, Apple Watch, Fitbit etc) & sync your run with the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app
Please note that your Runkeeper™️ app must be in version 10.8.1 to work on your Garmin
- Download the ASICS Runkeeper™️ app from the App Store to your mobile phone (download here).
- Connect your GPS running device to the Runkeeper™ app. Steps to connect your FitBit, Garmin, or Apple Watch to the Runkeeper™ app are linked here.

- Open the Runkeeper™️ app and click on the 'Start' menu icon then click on the chequered flag button and and follow the prompts to select your event, select your race and click on "Link Recent Activity". Please note that due to a global timezone sync issue (currently in the process of being resolved) please wait until 24 hours after you complete your run to link your activity (or use the manual upload process outlined in Option 2 to load your result immediately).
- Choose your completed run from the list of eligible activities and your result will be automatically loaded to the live race results leader board (click here to view the results page).
