Our story…
"My Story" begins in May of 2012 (my due date was January 5, 2013). This is when we found out we were pregnant. We were so excited. This was our first pregnancy, and we were so thankful, and overjoyed. Being that I was in my early 40's, I was considered "high risk' and had to have some special tests done. They wanted to test for Downs Syndrome, and other birth disorders. So, in my 11 week of pregnancy, I had a blood test done to check for these disorders. They automatically mentioned "Trisomy 18". We had never heard of this disorder so; we were very curious. Had lots of questions. The doctor said that we should just terminate the pregnancy, there is such a low chance of survival with this disorder. I did not hesitate-I said my baby deserves a chance, and he's going to fight. After months and months of testing, I carried our Bryce Halen for 8 amazing months, and he was born sleeping. We were so devastated. Bryce was our only child we would ever have. He is now our angle.
