"Star Spangled Night Run" in Vicksburg

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation (SCHF) is thrilled to present the 3rd annual “Star Spangled Night Run in Vicksburg”.

Come join us and help us light up the night in this unique event which will include a 5K run and a 5K walk at night through downtown Vicksburg. It will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 8:00pm and will begin and end at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center.

Registration is open now! The entry fees are $30 Individual, $15 Kids Registration (12 & under) through June 20^th. Late registration will be $35 Individual, $20 Kids. The first 150 registered participants will be guaranteed a "Night Run" Shirt. Included in the swag bag will also be a race bib and a glow item. Early registration is strongly encouraged to secure a place at the event. Entry forms and complete event details are available by visiting www.southernculture.org. Entry forms and fees can be dropped off at SCHF Business Office, mailed to SCHF, 1302 Adams Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180 or you can register online at www.RaceRoster.com. Race packet pick-up will be June 26^th in the SCHF Auditorium (corner of Crawford and Cherry Streets) from 10:00am-5:00pm and also before the race at the race site starting at 6:30pm.

COVID-19 precautions have been put into place to protect our Night Run participants, volunteers, and spectators. We hope everyone appreciates these efforts and follows the guidelines to help protect the well-being of those who are gathering with us! We wish everyone the best and please stay safe!

Before the start of the race:

• Online registration will be open until 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 27.
• Participants will be encouraged to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
• All volunteers, staff and timing crew will wear masks.

Race Start:

• Race will be chip timed from start to finish.
• Start will be handled in groups of five (5) to ten (10) participants leaving in waves approximately 30 seconds apart. Since chip timing will be used, the participant's actual time will start when the start line is crossed.
• Participants will be placed in corrals approximately 6 feet apart.
• On the course, participants will be asked to maintain the 6 foot distancing rule.
• Water stations will be on the course and will be handled by volunteers wearing gloves and masks. Specific duties will be assigned to each volunteer to eliminate contamination.

Race Finish:

• Once completed all participants will be asked to exit the finish chute.
• Race results can be viewed on finish monitors spaced out, to view their results; social distancing is encouraged.
• Results will be available on their smart phone after participant finishes; www.my.raceresult.com, search Star Spangled Night Run.
• Participants will be encouraged to wear masks after completing the race and continue to practice social distancing.
• Awards will be distributed shortly after the last participant finishes.

There will be music, food, drinks and fun for all participant in the race! We will light up the night just in time for Independence Day!
