Portland has so much to be proud of including Forest Park, Waterfront trails, The City of Roses, the City of Bridges, access to the Gorge, Mountains and the Ocean, and even our “Keep Portland Weird” theme. The City of Portland is 145 Square Miles in size and your challenge is to cover 145 miles in one month. Then afterwards, reward yourself as any true Portlandia native would, with Beer and Donuts! ;)
The challenge will require you to do an average of approximately 5 miles of activity everyday. You could choose running, walking, biking, hiking, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding etc. This will keep you moving and healthy through these challenging times. To go with the Triathlon theme, try to incorporate at least 3 different activities during your challenge for a very effective cross-training benefit. Bottom line, get your 145 miles in any way you can and earn the amazing SWAG below!
This challenge is NOT for all you Ironman athletes and Ultra-runners who could probably complete the challenge in 1 day! No, this challenge is for those of us who would enjoy the motivation and incentive to try and get 5 miles of some type of activity everyday, and would experience some great health benefits as a result. Invite your friends and family and challenge each other!
